a 'work-in-progress'
The proposed new
site for dumping yard waste in Brandywine Hundred remains on
hold long after the public was told it would be ready in time to
catch falling autumn leaves. "Our environmental investigation
... uncovered environmental issues that need to be addressed
before the site can be opened," Debra Nielsen, an engineer with
the Department of Natural Resources & Environmental Control,
told Delaforum. She gave no indication what, if anything, may be
happening in that regard other than to say, "Addressing these
issues is requiring both time and money." Meanwhile, Holland
Mulch, a firm adjacent to the site just outside the Du Pont Co.
