district administrators
received modest pay increases
Brandywine School District's
administrative payroll is just under $8 million, which is 17.6%
higher this fiscal year than last, according to data supplied in
response to a request by Delaforum. Most of the increase,
however, is attributable to new positions established to
administer the federally financed Race to the Top program and
additional administrative positions authorized by the state,
which pays the bulk of those salaries. Most Brandywine
administrators at both the district and school levels received
pay increases of slightly more than 1%. Superintendent Mark
Holodick's salary remained unchanged. Last year there
was an across-the-board salary cut for all state employees to
help close a budget shortfall.
