Tall windows will provide classrooms
with plenty of light. Sensors will
automatically turn off artificial lights
whenever a room is unoccupied.
Where possible, some of the original
millwork is being recycled for use
elsewhere in the building. These panels
are in what will be the main office.
As
has been the case in all the school
renovations, about 70% of the work
involves unseen infrastructure.
A
new 25-yard swimming pool has been
installed in the cavity used for the old
one in a separate building on the P.S.
campus. The pool already is in use.
Learning to swim is a component of the
Brandywine district's intermediate-
grades physical education curriculum.
