Blue Ball taking shape |

Generally
favorable weather has kept road construction in the Blue Ball
area close to schedule. While thousands of vehicles veer around
the site on a temporary bypass, their get only glimpses of one
of the largest highway projects in the state's history. The
Delaforum camera records what is happening on the site. |

The future Foulk
Road curves under the overpass which will carry Concord
Pike en route to a future intersection with Rockland
Road and the western park drive. |

A second underpass,
under construction between Foulk Road and Augustine
Cut-off, will enable secondary roads to link the two
sides of Alapocas Run Park without having to cross the
pike. |

| The
rebuilt Concord Pike is scheduled to reopen
in late September or early October. After
that, the present six-lane bypass, visible
in the background of the middle photo, will
be reduced to a two-lane road. |
