Main entrance to the swimming pool is now off a foyer which also serves the gymnasium. In years gone by, the pool was accessed by a separate door at the rear of the building.

The refurbished pool will serve both Claymont Intermediate School physical education classes and district middle- and high school teams.

The gymnasium has remained in use during the renovation project. Work was begun during summer, 2003, recess and has continued after school hours during this academic year.

Once used for storage, the stage at one end of the gym will now have a more useful function.
