Feds buy plan to cut air pollution |

New Castle County can breathe
easier -- Wilmington Area Planning Council has declared the
ozone crisis resolved, at least for the next few years. And
the bistate agency said it was able to accomplish that
without having to require lower speed limits on Interstate
495 and the Delaware Route 1 bypasses around Smyrna and
Dover.

child poverty is Governor Ruth Ann Minner's next top
priority, she told members of the Rotary Club of Wilmington.
She said Delaware's rate is among the highest in the nation
and is increasing while the national rate is declining.

is "no intention to pursue legal recourse" against property
owners who have illicit connections with the sanitary sewer
system, County Councilman Robert Weiner told the first of a
series of civic meetings called to explain the extensive
